Shannan’s bio:
With a passion for science, systems and problem solving, Shannan aims to educate people to achieve ease of movement and facilitate healthy personal connections – both within themselves and their community. Shannan is a grounded, practical and approachable teacher who draws on a number of disciplines to inform her breadth of teaching experience (Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Satyanada Yoga; Zen and Thervada Buddhism; Pilates; Stretch Therapy with Kit Laughlin; Paul Chek’s Holistic Lifestyle Coaching to level 3, postural assessment and functional movement training). Her skills are readily adapted to various settings and a broad range of participants. Shannan believes fundamentally in transferring knowledge and understanding to deepen your personal Yoga practice. She believes that Yoga is not meant to be a ‘one size fits all’ approach but can be adapted to be beneficial for all shapes, sizes and levels of fitness. Her classes are both serious and fun, and she enjoys her role in assisting people to discover how Yoga can add quality to their lives through building self-knowledge, and compassionate understanding. She offers practical tools and skills to build physical and emotional resilience for the benefit of individuals and their communities.

Shannan is a passionate environmentalist, knows quite a bit about growing food in urban areas and sustainable living, and goes bushwalking whenever she can. She has two adult children and has supported several women during childbirth
